Sharing Some of the fun times
children enjoy at Nursery - Under 2’s |
|
MEANINGFUL ROUTINES
Helping to settle the children into meaningful routines allows the children to feel safe and nurtured.
|
MUSIC
After breakfast is music time – some days integrated with older children and other days in the calm of their own room.
Singing, action rhymes, poems, nonsense rhymes, familiar nursery rhymes, and more, shakers, drums, percussion. |
MILK TIME AND NAPPY CHANGES...

|
LITTLE GROUPS OF CHILDREN ENJOY A VARIETY OF STIMULATING ACTIVITIES.
While some play outdoors with balls and spinning quoits – others find their way to the sand pit and explore the sand using a variety of resources. Sieving, pouring, spooning, pushing the sand with their toes and burying animals and treasure. Little squeals of delight and sometimes uncertainty can be heard…
Other children move to the dens in the large room towards the rear of the nursery. Dark tent with light resources, dens with cosy spaces and puppet shows all go on while children move from one activity to another.

The large physical play area means time for running around, ride on toys, climbing on soft play, balancing, pushing buggies and caring for dolls. Sharing and caring together the children explore and interact with the adults and their friends.
Yoga helps the children get in touch with their bodies, stretching and bending, rolling and pretending to be jungle animals, minibeasts or slithering snakes.
Messy play with shaving foam, paint, playdough, spaghetti, jelly, water play and more.
Different textures to explore – some taste better than others!
All the time the children’s key workers chat, cuddle, encourage and help each child to achieve and enjoy, to grow in confidence and help each child gain a sense of purpose from what they are doing.

|
R & R
After lunch most of the children will have a sleep – either in a comfy cot in the sleep room or in a snuggle cushion in the blue room. The areas are calm and conducive to having a restful nap. Staff are close by while they sleep and respond quickly as each child wakes.
|
END OF THE DAY
At the end of the day the children are happy to see their parents after another fun filled, enjoyable day at nursery.
